An Architect-Led Walking Tour of Chester Rows

  

The Cheshire Society of Architects will be presenting an Architect-Led Walking Tour of Chester Rows on Wednesday 19th June 2024 in collaboration with Chester and North Wales Pan Professionals Group

 

Attendees will meet for 6.30pm at The Cross in Chester. They will then be led on a 1 ½ hour tour of the city’s architectural jewels by Paul Fielding (telling The Story of Thomas Lockwood – Creator of Victorian Chester) and Daniel Potts (providing an exploration of the then and now of Chester Rows’ history). The tour will finish at 8pm followed with an opportunity for drinks and networking.

Biographies:

 

Paul Fielding, Lovelock Mitchell Architects:  Paul is an architect interested in themes of facade, perception, and storytelling. Originally from the North West, he spent many years in London with internationally-renowned firms including Eric Parry and WilkinsonEyre, known for their bold yet considered approach to historic buildings. As an associate at Lovelock Mitchell, he looks after the creative direction of projects and has recently been helping to document and map the prolific influence of the firm’s founder, Thomas M. Lockwood – creator of Victorian Chester.

 

Daniel Potts, Donald Insall Associates and Chester Rows Heritage Action Zone: Daniel is an experienced architect, who has a keen understanding of both modern and traditional methods of construction and design. His passion lies with the preservation of our heritage through appropriate conservation, restoration and sensitive adaptions that add value and contemporise cultural expression. This has only intensified following his involvement in several significant projects ranging from Wentworth Woodhouse, Chester Cathedral and The Abbey School for Exceptional Children in Chester.

 

The Pan Professional event a collaborative event between Cheshire Society of Architects, The Chester Association of Property Professionals, Cheshire & North Wales Law Society, Chartered Insurance Institute of Chester and North Wales and The Chester & North Wales Society of Chartered Accountants.
