CAPP Cricketers Take on Grosvenor at the Duke’s Estate

A collection of CAPP Cricketers made the short journey to the Duke’s Estate for a friendly fixture against a Grosvenor side, played in the beautiful parkland surroundings of the estate.

With temperatures high and several members of the CAPP team still making their way to the ground, CAPP elected to bat first.

The side posted 96 runs from their allocated 20 overs. Freddie Cheshire retired after reaching 25, but the standout innings came from opener Erin Royle, who batted throughout the innings and finished unbeaten on 26.

In reply, Grosvenor adopted an aggressive approach from the opening overs, finding the boundary regularly and seeing several players retire after making quick contributions.

The hosts reached the target inside 15 overs to secure the victory. Marley claimed CAPP’s only wicket of the innings.

While the result went the way of Grosvenor, the afternoon was very much about bringing members together, enjoying some friendly competition and spending time in one of Cheshire’s finest settings.
