A new chapter for the Chester Association of Property Professionals
The Chester Association of Property Professionals (CAPP) celebrated its 76th Annual General Meeting at Oddfellows in Chester, bringing together members, friends and colleagues from across the city’s property industry.
As one of the oldest associations of its kind, CAPP has a proud history of connecting property professionals, encouraging collaboration and building friendships across the industry.
And 76 years on, that sense of community is as important as ever.
This year’s AGM marked the end of Ben Thornley’s term as Chairman, and what an impact he has made!
Ben has brought fresh energy, enthusiasm and ideas to CAPP throughout his year in office.
From introducing the Past Chairs’ Lunch, bringing together those who have helped shape the Association over the years, to organising an excellent programme of new CPD sessions, Ben has worked hard to make CAPP more relevant, welcoming and valuable to its members.
He has also championed outreach to new members, strengthened our social events and encouraged greater involvement from across Chester’s property community.
His commitment has gone far beyond simply chairing meetings. Ben has helped create opportunities for people to learn, connect, share ideas and enjoy being part of the industry.
He leaves CAPP in a stronger position, with some very big shoes to fill!
We will certainly miss his leadership, good humour and enthusiasm as Chairman, although we are delighted he will remain part of the CAPP community.
On behalf of the committee and members, a huge thank you, Ben, for everything you have contributed.
We are delighted to welcome Jayne Clarke as CAPP’s new Chair for 2026/27.
Jayne is already bringing fresh thinking and innovative ideas to the Association, and we are excited to see what the coming year holds.
Building on Ben’s achievements, Jayne is keen to continue developing CAPP, welcoming new members and creating opportunities for professionals from every corner of the property industry to get involved.
We wish her every success and look forward to supporting her throughout the year.
Chester is fortunate to have an association with such a long history and an active community of property professionals.
At its heart, CAPP is about people.
Estate agents, letting agents, surveyors, solicitors, architects, developers and other property professionals all have something to contribute.
We may work in different disciplines, and sometimes even compete, but there is enormous value in coming together.
Sharing knowledge, supporting one another, building relationships and enjoying the social side of our industry makes us all stronger.
From informative CPD sessions and industry discussions to lunches, sporting events, quizzes and evenings out, CAPP offers something that is increasingly valuable in a busy working world: the opportunity to connect with people face to face.
Some of the best relationships and opportunities begin with a simple conversation over a drink.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Oddfellows for our AGM and to all those who have supported CAPP throughout the year.
To Ben, thank you for a fantastic year.
To Jayne, welcome to the Chair. We cannot wait to see your ideas come to life!
And to Chester’s wider property community, whether you have been involved with CAPP for years or have yet to attend an event, we would love you to be part of what comes next.
Because Chester’s property community really is better together.
