The Annual CAPP Golf Day returned to Upton Golf Club in Chester, bringing together 24 players for an afternoon of golf, friendly competition and great company.
We could not have asked for better conditions. Blue skies and sunshine made for a perfect September afternoon, while the course was in excellent condition and the team at Upton Golf Club looked after everyone superbly throughout the day.
The Robert Brown Trophy was won by Kevin O’Reilly, who produced an impressive score of 39 points.
It was particularly fitting to see Kevin lift the trophy again. As an ever-present attendee and co-organiser of the CAPP Golf Day over recent years, he has played an important part in making the event such a success.
Ben Spence took the title of Winning Guest, while Freddie Cheshire showed his power to win Longest Drive, and Gareth Friend demonstrated his accuracy to claim Nearest the Pin.
Congratulations to all four.
Of course, the CAPP Golf Day is about much more than the scorecard.
CAPP has always been about bringing people together who share a connection with Chester, and events such as this provide an opportunity to catch up, make new connections and strengthen existing relationships in a relaxed setting.
With 24 players on the course, there was plenty of competition, but also plenty of conversation, laughter and camaraderie along the way.
It is this combination that has made the Annual Golf Day such an enjoyable fixture in the CAPP calendar.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success, and to Upton Golf Club for the excellent course and hospitality.
And, of course, congratulations once again to Kevin O’Reilly, Ben Spence, Freddie Cheshire and Gareth Friend on their wins.
Another fantastic CAPP Golf Day completed, and we are already looking forward to doing it all again next year.
See you on the first tee in 2027!
